Blog in the Field

http://msrachelsroom.blogspot.com/

This blog is very extensive but at the same time very organized.  Ms. Rachel blogs day by day what is happening in her classroom.  She shares many great ideas for organization in the classroom and at different stations.  There are many great tips for easy classroom management.   She is also a Special Education teacher, so her blog is a great one to refer to.  She sounds like a very organized and busy teacher!  Having these resources to look at can be very helpful as a teacher.

Technology in Education

Technology in the classroom is definitely a useful thing.  Students today have grown up with the advancement in technology, and there are so many tools that can benefits these learners.  This link shows many different forms of assisstive technology that can be used in the classroom.  Since I will have a Special Education classroom of my own in the future, I know I will have many students that use assisstive technology everyday.  It is important that I know as much as I can about their assistive technology so I know how it helps them.

Teaching Philosophy

Since I am  going to be a Special Education teacher in the future, I have a very open mind about education.  Every child deserves the right to an education.  Having some experince with the Special Education classroom, I know how difficult it can get to work with students who have disabilities.  Making sure that my students are successful will be very rewarding knowing they have more obstacles to overcome than a typical student.  I cannot wait to graduate and finally do what I am so passionate about.  Being a Special Education teacher is going to be very satisfying for me.

Autobiography

My name is Lauren Mogensen.  I grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and I graduated high school in 2009.  I have been attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for the past four years.  I am studying Special Education in hopes of having my own classroom in the future.  I am expecting to graduate next Spring, so I have three semesters left after this one.  Ricky is my boyfriend (pictured above), and we have been dating for almost six years.  I have a huge family, and the majority of them live in Kenosha, so that is where I hope to teach after I graduate!
